Tempest Inquisition
The Tempest Inquisition was an organization independent of the military of the Legion of Thunder. Outside of Imperator Hyperius' mind, the identities of the inquisitors were unknown to anyone. They were seen in official settings covered in a navy blue silk robes with a golden thundersteel mask on their faces. This concealment of identity prevented anyone from being able to talk openly about things like rebellion or other treasonous topics. Everyone knew the inquisitors existed, but no one knew who they were. How inquisitors were picked was unknown. ^5f1bcb
Inquisitors would either kill or capture anyone who the imperator deemed a liability to the well-being of the state. Targets were exclusively individuals who are among the ranks of the Legion, since outsiders were dealt with by the military itself. Major targets of the inquisitors in the past have been defectors or corrupt officials attempting to sell thundersteel to black markets. ^b6db23
